GETTING
THERE
Manuel
Antonio, a “jungle paradise”, with its “natural beauty”
and “biological diversity” is considered the most beautiful
coastline in Costa Rica. With its convenient access
(local airport) and good infrastructure (new roads and
bridges all the way to Quepos), there is no wonder Manuel
Antonio is rapidly becoming the most desirable tourist
destination in Costa Rica.
Traveling
to Mango Moon is very scenic! SEE
OUR COUNTRY MAP
.From the San Jose International
Airport, take the Pan-American Highway west approximately
10KM to Atenas. Exit right at the Atenas - Orotina sign
and turn left crossing over the highway continuing through
the scenic mountains past Orotina. You will drive through
the mountains for about one hour; once you get to the
town of San Mateo follow the signs to Jaco, Parrita,
and then Quepos.
Once in Quepos, follow the signs that
will take you up the hill approximately 2.5 miles (4
kilometers) on the only road to Manuel Antonio National
Park. Turn right after Barba Roja (across from
Café Milagra) and continue 200 meters past La Mariposa
on the right. You have reached El Mango Moon.
The
total driving distance from the international airport
is 150 kilometers (90 miles) and will take about 3 hours.
20 minute scheduled flights provided by SANSA (www.flysansa.com)
and NATURE AIR (www.natureair.com) and private charters
are also available to Quepos from San Jose. These services
are very convenient. Our B&B is located 15 minutes
from the air strip. A SANSA shuttle provides transportation
to and from the Quepos airport for a minimal charge.
